Fearful dog becomes brave protector when hooman sibling joins family, going from being terrified of storms to his little brother’s guardian during them, pawrent says: ‘He wasn't trembling. He laid there, stoic’

You can never judge a dog by its behavior is the lesson that this pawrent learned after assuming their timid pup would be scared of storms for its whole life. But when time came to protect his new little brother from one, this dog knew no fear, only duty and bravery.

It is a truly wild and exciting outcome to a story which stands out from the rest. For usually a pupper who has been abandoned and neglected, and does not show signs of overcoming its emotional scars after being rescued, is deemed incapable of change. Forever doomed to be afraid of their triggers. But in a surprising turn of events this one doggo stepped up to be a brave big brother after the arrival of his little hooman brother.

Shocking the whole family by lying quietly outside the young child's door during one of the most intense storms to hit their area. And even with all the noise and commotion going on outside, this dog understood that his duty was to protect the precious hooman on the other side of the door, completely overriding his own fears and insecurities, and in the process, showing his pawrents that he had plenty of surprises left within him.

Wait what? What kind of madness is this that there is a road in a forest which is known for dumping dogs? Like how did it come to be that this one road had been chosen time and again by pitiful people who had no heart to take their unwanted dog to the local shelter? And how in the heck did it come to be that there were so many dogs to get rid off in one specific area? If we did not know any better we would assume that this is some sort of twisted puppy farming area where the rejects get dumped, but even that sounds too ridiculous to be true.

Well, that is a rather decent result to get out of a pupper who has been through the ringer in life and could have just as easily reacted in a much harsher way. After all it is well known that dogs (and hoomans come to think of it) who have been put through trauma in their life usually react rather poorly to being prodded and poked. But this dog begrudgingly understood his responsibility as an older brother and was not going to let his emotions get the better of him while he was around his little brother.
